Well, where do I start?
Our 20 year old double oven started to act up, and in researching the likelihood of having to replace an old unit ($2500...ouch!), I came across the fixyourboard.com website. The website itself is kind of plain, and what I read seemed to good to be true. But, considering the specter of having to spend thousands on a replacement, I decided to contact the company via email.
Meagan replied to my inquires right away, and when she didn't have the answer, I was promptly replied to by one of the technicians, Daniel. A couple of emails later, I had removed the oven control board and prepared to send it off. My wife and I agreed...what did we have to lose? As it turned out, we would have "lost" about $2300...minimum).
Well, about one week later, I received a call from Meagan who said the board was ready, and she was looking for a credit card number, so she could complete the transaction. Two relays were repaired, cracked solder joints were fixed, and preventative replacement of some components was also done. The cost? $196 as originally promised in the estimate..
A few days later, I received the board, which was well packaged along with the final test results. I promptly installed it, and the oven worked perfectly.
There's nothing really more to be said. I sent it, they fixed it, and now the oven works. I wouldn't expect less, and I could not ask for more.
Now, since I am a first time Yelper, I expect this review will get filtered due to Yelp's filtering software. And, I guess I can understand why this happens. But, if you find yourself staring at an oven replacement versus buying a new one...give this place a shot. I have not hesitated to tell coworkers and friends, and I would use them again in a heartbeat.
